Review the Network Before Changing the Router
A router can be part of a larger arrangement of switches, access points, internet services and connected systems. Describe the sites, user groups and applications involved, and identify which connections work or fail. Existing addressing, cabling, hardware capacity and provider equipment should be understood before a configuration change is proposed. This helps distinguish a router issue from another network problem.
